Broken Scanner =( + rambling

Wed Feb 25, 2009, 10:36 AM
  • Mood: Miserable
  • Listening to: Loreena McKennitt
  • Reading: Douglas Adams - Life, The Universe and Everything
  • Watching: you.
  • Playing: dead.
  • Eating: nothing
  • Drinking: nothing
Yeah, somehow my scanner's software seems to be kind of broken, bc everytime I want to scan something I get a weird error notice (which i can't recall atm).
I'm quite angry about that because I have some new traditional things I'd like to scan and upload here; I hate taking photos of drawings/paintings because they really look awful afterwards. =(

I don't feel like drawing digitally at the moment and I think I should work on my traditional skills a little....

Ah yes, and I finally have decided that I'm not going to study Art at university. I focus mostly on technique - and I've heard from what my art teacher and some other people said that at art school people want to see you do...crazy things. Creative things. Like growing cress sculptures and rolling about a canvas, naked and with paint on you. Things like that. Things that don't focus on technique. And my teacher told me that if you only do "tame" stuff, people will almost insult you for being an "hobby amateur artist" oder whatever.
I think I'm not made for these things, as I simply like to draw and maybe paint a little, but I really suck at sculptures and clay modelling and pretty much everything else that would be required for taking up an Arts career. And I don't really enjoy the quirky things. I only want to get better at drawing and painting, and I might do some drawing class or else in the future, but I'm not going to study it.
I might go into Psychology or Language Studies, maybe. But hey, there's still a year left to decide... -.-'
